Local mission projects should be the life blood of any church.  Certainly we come together as the Body of Christ to worship and to pray, to seek fellowship and discipleship opportunities, but serving others has to be a priority if a church is truly going to serve Christ.

Matthew 25:35-36, 40 gives us the impetus to serve others:

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

We serve others as a way to serve Jesus himself.  We also serve others as a way to show our faith is real and is important to us.  The Apostle Paul makes it very clear that we are saved by faith, not by works.  However, James, the brother of Jesus, also makes it clear that we should have works.  In James 2:17, he writes:

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

We serve others as way of showing that our faith is not dead.  There are always opportunities for you to serve others with us.  Live your faith by living a life a service to others.  You can help us serve by joining us in these local mission projects...
